Carrickfergus College year 9 pupils took part in special workshops facilitated by Young Enterprise Northern Ireland.

The aim of the course, according to the school, was to unlock the potential within each student to plan ahead for the kind of life they wish to have when they are older.

Martin Morgan from Young Enterprise talked the pupils through the cost of living a certain way later in life and how a luxury lifestyle comes with a luxury price tag.

A statment from the college explained: “He then chatted to the pupils about the salary they could expect to earn from certain jobs and, through this, they were able to see what they would need to be aiming for in a career to facilitate their desired lifestyle.

“The workshop was valuable in allowing the pupils to think critically about their future earning potential and use key transferable skills such as group work, communication skills and assertiveness. Thanks to all at Young Enterprise Northern Ireland for their hard work and preparation.”
