The money was raised through a corporate donation and staff fundraising during an ‘October Pink Day’ at the company’s Mallusk HQ and sites across Northern Ireland.

The £8,000 will be used to fund Pretty ‘n’ Pink’s Support Fund, which provides financial grants to breast cancer patients.

The charity’s fundraising and marketing manager, Noeleen Lynn said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of McLaughlin & Harvey staff and owners and would like to say a massive thanks to all concerned. This is the second year in a row we have been supported by McLaughlin & Harvey, with last year’s donation of almost £6,000 helping us to provide financial support to many breast cancer patients and their families here in Northern Ireland. This further £8,000 will allow us to continue this work into 2016.”

McLaughlin & Harvey HR officer, Lois Hillen added: “We always strive to support the local communities in which we operate and with so many families being closely affected by breast cancer these days, including some of our staff, we were very keen to support a local charity that would help us to provide some support to these very people. It has been great to see the staff get behind the partnership with Pretty ‘n’ Pink; well done to all involved.”
