“I am proud of the number of vibrant small businesses that operate in the area and the employment that they are creating. Small Business Saturday exists to try and garner awareness amongst the public to come out and buy local and support small businesses within the town or village that they live in.

“Throughout my time as MP I have consistently supported small businesses, not just on Small Business Saturday, but every day and I want to make every effort to try and encourage people to shop local over the Christmas period and beyond.

“So this Saturday on Small Business Saturday step out and support our small businesses.

“As we continue to experience the repercussions of what has been a difficult economic climate, I wish our small local businesses well as they use their energy to grow their businesses and drive our local economy. However, they need your help and I would encourage everyone to shop local.”
