Dogs Trust Ballymena: cute canines Izzy and Maude are seeking their forever families

Among the cute canines awaiting their tail-wagging happy ending at Dogs Trust Ballymena are two gorgeous pups currently in the charity’s care, Izzy and Maude.

A five-month-old Whippet crossbreed, Izzy is a sweet-natured but nervous young lass, so she is looking for patient, understanding and committed adopters, says Dogs Trust.

As she hasn't had much experience or socialisation, she can find life a little overwhelming. She will require ongoing puppy training, although she was previously house and crate trained. Izzy is looking for someone who is willing to take things slowly, build trust. "Once she is comfortable with you, she shows her loving nature and loves a snuggle,” the charity added.

Izzy would like to be the only dog in her new home as she struggles with other dogs. She would also like to be walked in quiet areas. She could potentially live with older dog-savvy children.

Izzy would benefit from having a secure garden in which to play, and with time left alone, being built up gradually.

Maude is a beautiful six-year-old Pointer who is an absolute joy to be around. She adores people and is always happy to make new friends. She is very sweet-natured, and she loves to have a snuggle on the sofa after a day out exploring.

Maude is good with other dogs and enjoys walks and playtime, so she could happily live with another dog after successful meets at Dogs Trust Ballymena. Maude is a pleasure to walk and would suit an active family who can give her plenty of exercise and affection. She will require some on-going training to help her settle into the home and for her busy brain to be kept occupied with training and plenty of enrichment activities.

Maude would best suit an active family who can keep up with her lively personality. "We don't have much history on Maude being around children, however we do feel she could live with dog-savvy kids who have experience with bigger dogs,” Dogs Trust said.

“Maude struggles being left alone for long periods of time, so someone who is at home most of the time would be ideal.”
