Home turbine approved
APPROVAL has been given by planners to a proposal for a wind turbine to produce electricity for domestic use at a property on Ballymena’s Rankinstown Road.
The application, by Colin Thompson, centres on a site 120m east of 45 Rankinstown Road and involves a 11kw GAIA turbine on an 18m tower. It attracted one letter of objection.
When details of the application came before last Thursday night’s Planning Committee of Ballymena Borough Council, its approval was welcomed by Cllr Declan O’Loan.
