Actively Ageing Well Club: new sessions

WITH the New Year upon us older people in the borough are encouraged to stay fit and active by getting involved in Coleraine Borough Council’s popular Actively Ageing Well Club based at Coleraine Leisure Centre.

The club offers the over 50’s, the opportunity to take part in weekly physical activity sessions that include exercise circuit, spin cycle class, swimming and use of the health suite.

Stephen McCartney, Council’s Community Sports Development Officer and club co-ordinator, said, “The Actively Ageing Well Club is a great way to meet and socialise with new people, keep active and improve your health while taking part in new activities in a fun and enjoyable manner.

“So many of those retired and living in the Borough, no longer have an opportunity to socialise or would think about keeping fit. There has been a positive response to this Club in the past and I look forward to registering so many more this year.”

Sessions begin on Thursday, January 16 at 11.00am (registration from 10.45am) and the programme runs until Thursday, March 27. Cost of the programme is £4.00 per session, with Access to Leisure Card holders eligible for a 50% discount. All new and returning members are very welcome,.
