The shopping centre will partner with the charity in hosting fundraising events throughout the year to raise funds for the charity that champions the rights of people living with dementia and the millions of people who care for them.

There are currently 19,765 people in Northern Ireland living with dementia with that figure set to rise as the population ages.

Grainne Devine from Fairhill Shopping Centre said: “Fairhill was searching for a cause that we felt is present in so many people’s lives and is close to so many people’s hearts. We are delighted to be partnering with Alzheimer’s Society and representing them as our ‘Charity of the Year. The work carried out by the charity is admirable and fits perfectly here. We will engage in as many ways as possible and hopefully can make a difference during the year long partnership.’
