Appeal for information following Cookstown distraction burglary

Detectives in Cookstown have made an appeal for information following a distraction burglary in the Orritor Crescent area on September 19th shortly before 2pm.

Detective Inspector Hazel Reid said, “One man, purporting to be from the Water Service called at a house and distracted the occupant. Two other men entered the property and went upstairs and took personal items. They may have made off in the direction of Orritor Lane and we would like to hear from anyone who saw them.”

The first man is described as being 5’ 7” tall, clean shaven, with dirty fair hair aged around 28 or 30 years with a distinctive Southern accent and was wearing a dark coloured clothing. T

The other two men are described as having short dark hair, 5’5” tall, thin build and in their 30s, one may have had a moustache.
