Ballymoney Show funds increase to £5,000
Ballymoney Borough Council has agreed to grant £5,000 to North Antrim Agricultural Association towards sponsorship of the 107th Ballymoney Show.
During a recent Corporate and Central Services Committee meeting, members voted to increase the contribution from £1,200 with Cllr John Finlay stating that the show was ‘worth every penny’.
The report explained: ‘Chair invited representatives from Ballymoney Show to present to committee. The Show is in its 107th Year and will be held on 6th-7th June 2014. G Thompson requested that Council increase their contribution to the North Antrim Agricultural Association from £1,200 to £5,000 in 2014/15, the representatives responded to a number of member comments.’
It was proposed by Alderman Bill Kennedy and seconded by Clr Ian Stevenson.
