Centenary memoirs of the First World War include death of a Moneymore soldier
A Moneymore soldier who was killed in action in May 1915 has been lovingly remembered with honour and pride by his family.
3525 Private John Jordan, was the son of the late Johnnie and Mary Ann Jordan, Moneymore, he was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Innishkilling Fusiliers when he was killed on May 14 1915.
Private Jordan was just 22 years old and was fighting with his regiment at the Battle of Festubert.
