Chet Baker film tomorrow

THIS weekend sees the City of Derry Jazz Festival come to town and as its little contribution Magic Lantern Film Society is showing Let’s Get Lost, a not-to-be-missed documentary about Jazz Legend Chet Baker.

Let’s get Lost is a fascinating portrait of a jazz legend told through the voices of people who loved and worked with him.

The documentary intercuts footage from the 1950s, when he was part of the West Coast Cool, and from his last years. The only documentary that works like a novel, inviting you to read between the lines of Baker’s personality until you touch the secret sadness at the heart of his beauty.
