Christmas comes early for local dogs thanks to generosity of Ballymena folk

Staff at Dogs Trust Ballymena have offered a huge thank you after being “overwhelmed” by the generosity of the local public following an appeal for toys and treats.

All of the 43 dogs currently awaiting forever homes at the Ballymena based rehoming centre have being enjoying lots of tasty dog treats and playing with new toys kindly donated by local dog lovers, including Tia an eight year old Jack

Russell Terrier who has been sniffing around the treats under the tree.

Dogs Trust Ballymena Rehoming Centre Manager, Oonagh Philips said: “Since appealing to the public for tinned food, treats and toys we have had donations every day.

“We are completed overwhelmed and thrilled by the support of the local public. All of our lovely dogs feel very spoilt and they’ve still got presents under the tree to open.

“Each and every one of us, dogs included would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has made the effort to donate to us.”

You can still donate tinned food, toys and treats to the dogs of Dogs Trust Ballymena, just pop along to the rehoming centre at Fairview, 60 Teeshan Road, Ballymena, Co Antrim, BT43 5PN between 12:00 - 16:00 Saturday – Thursday. Dogs Trust Ballymena is closed on Friday.
