Ballymena man receives suspended jail term for driving offences
A man convicted of causing damage to a car he had taken without permission from a person he knew, has received a suspended jail term.
The 25-year-old was at Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Thursday, June 11.
The case of Ronan Tierney of Murob Park in Ballymena had previously been a contest. He was convicted of offences in relation to May 31 last year.
Tierney has now been sentenced on charges of aggravated taking of a vehicle causing damage; and absence of insurance and a driving licence.

The defendant, who had a record, has received a five months jail term, suspended for three years; has been banned from driving for 18 months; and has been fined £200.
The court was told the defendant is set to appeal the conviction and sentence.
