Report ordered in case of Co Tyrone man charged with damaging speed camera van
A pre-sentence report has been ordered in the case of a 40-year-old Co Tyrone man who was detained after an attack on a speed camera van parked near the village of Coagh.
The accused appeared at Dungannon Magistrates Court on Friday to answer charges of common assault, criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon, a brick, in a public place, on June 22.
Prosecuting counsel said at approximately 2.50pm police received a 999 call from the driver of the speed camera van at Ballinderry Bridge Road, Coagh, stating damage had been caused to the van by a male.

William Stewart McGuckin, of Ballinderry Bridge Road, Coagh, was told by District Judge Francis Rafferty that the offences passed the custodial threshold and a pre-sentence report was required.
The judge adjourned the case to August 21 for a “short report” and told McGuckin that given the nature of the offences he would be advised to engaged with the Probation Services.
