Man shot in NI with crossbow after house windows smashed - PSNI discover man in street with injury to back and arrest him

The incident occurred at approximately midnight on Tuesday in Maplebrook Hill in Coalisland.

The PSNI was alerted to the incident after reports a man had been shot with a crossbow after windows of a house in the area were smashed.

"Officers responded and a 34 year-old man was discovered in the street with an injury to his back," said the PSNI.

"He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon and was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

"A 29 year old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

"He remains in police custody at this time."

Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the Maplebrook Hill area around the same time the alleged incident is thought to have taken place.

The detectives investigating the incident can be reached in Cookstown on 101 quoting reference 19 15/04/20.
