The telephone was recovered by officers in the Glenville Park area on Friday evening.

Detailing the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Whilst on patrol this evening, we tried to stop and speak to a number of young males in the area of Glenville Park, Newtownabbey.

“Unfortunately these males weren’t too keen on speaking to us, which I’ll try not to take offence to. But in their haste to disappear into the glen, one of these gentlemen has dropped their phone, which I recovered for him.”

Police are urging the owner to call 101 and quote incident reference number 1772 of 01/05/20 to get their mobile phone back.
