Police launch appeal after woman assaulted by man in Newtownabbey

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the vicinity of Church Road, Newtownabbey on Friday, September 18.

Detailing the incident, Detective Constable Corry said: “Shortly after 1pm a woman in her 30s was injured by a man believed to be driving a red car.

“Thankfully her injuries were minor and members of the public were on hand to assist her. It is believed that one of those persons who assisted may have dash-cam footage of the incident.

“We would be keen to obtain this footage and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault and has not already to spoken with us to contact detectives at Ballymena on 101, quoting reference number 920 18/09/20.
