Dean of Derry plays Londonderry Air

The Dean of Derry, Very Rev Dr William Morton, captivated an audience of over 200 people during the Fleadh when he presided at the organ in St Columb’s Cathedral as part of the Fleadh celebrations.

The Dean began his lunchtime recital last Wednesday with ‘Meditation’ by J Frederick Bridge, and followed it by ‘The Londonderry Air’ the traditional arrangement. From there he moved to Sonata No 2 Grave and Adagio by F Mendelssohn and followed that with Bach’s Fantasia in C Minor.

The lunchtime recital ended with ‘Ag Criost an siol’ by Sean O Riada and ‘Tuba Tune’ by C S Land.
