This year we are planning some special events to help us remember and think about the awful cost of World War One, which began 100 years ago.

The weekend begins with a Concert on Friday 7 Nov at 7.30 p.m. in Desertcreat Church Hall. This superb venue will host acts from local schools, bands and singers. Desertcreat are delighted to have Sylvia Burnside as their special guest; the accompanist for the evening will be Louise Glen. Admission is just £5 which will include supper and a copy of the book “They shall grow not old” printed specially to remember those brave men from our local area who fought and those who died in the unprecedented horrors of that momentous war.
