The donation is part of Murdock’s annual Christmas campaign which sees the company supporting charities closest to the hearts of its customers and suppliers in each of its ten branches.

As a result, a total of £2500 is donated by Murdocks in lieu of funds traditionally spent on Christmas cards and gifts.

Pearce Gildernew, Operations Manager of the Dungannon branch said: “We’re proud to support the work of Charis which delivers such an important service in the local area.

This is also appreciated by our customers and suppliers who believe this gesture reflects the true spirit of Christmas and also helps a very worthy cause.”

In November, Self-funded charity Charis Cancer Care based outside Cookstown secured £50,000 of funding to support hundreds of cancer patients across Northern Ireland.

With research indicating that 1 in every 3 people in Northern Ireland will have cancer in their lifetime, support channels will become increasingly important going forward

Director of Charis Cancer Care explains how the charity supports patients: “Charis is a self-funded charity which supports cancer patients through their journey by providing body therapies such as massage, aromatherapy and reflexology, advice on benefit entitlements and nutritional advice. Therapists treat the person as a whole, ensuring they benefit from advice ments which are free of charge.
