Girl approached by man in car in Coleraine

Police are investigating an incident in the Spring Meadows area of Coleraine on Friday, 29 January.

At approximately 8.15pm as a young girl was walking along the road she was stopped by a silvery/white car and the male driver, who is described as being approximately 24 years old with brown hair and wearing a grey t-shirt asked her if she wanted a lift home. The girl walked on and the vehicle drove off towards the Greenhall Highway area of Coleraine.

Constable Gillen would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Police at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101. They would also like to speak to the driver of the car as he may be able to help them with their enquiries. Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
