Happy couple’s big day a hit on YouTube

Stephen Henning and twitter enthusiast rounded off his speech with a surprise, showing a short video of Hollywood greats, celebrities and sporting heroes with their messages to the happy couple. The surprise not only got a standing ovation from the entire wedding party but is now a hit on YouTube.

Four months ago, Stephen (23) who now lives in Newcastle Upon Tyne came up with an idea of tweeting celebrities and asking them if they would film themselves wishing the couple well on their wedding day.

Many who were contacted were more than willing to help out, including high-profile actors Chris O’Dowd and Harold Perrineau, along with sport stars Wayne McCullough, Paula Radcliffe and even Liverpool comedian John Bishop.

Presenters Colin Murray, Mary Nightingale, Mark Austin, Julie Etchingham and Eamonn Holmes even filmed themselves at the television studio.

Chris O’Dowd and the cast of Mrs Browns Boys compiled hilarious sketches for the longtime sweethearts who met at the Belmont Hotel ten years ago.

Michael’s brother Stephen was asked to be best man over a year ago wanted to do something extra special for the happy couple.

“Michael is a big twitter fan and so I came up with this idea to ask a few celebrities if they would help out,” said Stephen. “It was a secret and only told my girlfriend and father. As my brother is also on Twitter I had to do everything in secret. The funny thing is that if he ever gets a tweet from anyone who is well known you would hear about it for days and days,

“As with most siblings my brother and I have fought through the years but at the end of the day there is a lot of love there which is why I wanted to do something special for him and Victoria who is lovely. I wanted to do something for them to remember. It was just months of crazy tweets. It was like having a second full-time job.”
