Hollyoaks comes to UK City of Culture

The Hollyoaks film crew and character/actor Vincent Elegba/John Omole, prepare for a take on the courner of Spencer Road and Duke Street this morning, Wednesday.

The curious and celebrity-spotters formed a small growd as the film crew set up shots and harried the actors into place for the filming - which focuses around a sham marriage.

According to detail available, it is understood five members of the cast are in the UK City of Culture for five days as Lime Pictures (the production company) films the storyline.

The footage in the attached video shows Vincent Elegba (John Omole) dressed for the wedding on the corner of Spencer Road adjacent to Moran’s Bar. Also in town for the filming is Phoebe McQueen (Mandip Gill).

Vincent and Phoebe are in Londonderry to get married in a bid to prevent Vincent being deported from the UK.

Coincidentally, Phil Redmond, the man who chaired the panel of judges that named Londonderry the UK’s first City of Culture, devised the series Hollyoaks.
