Humphreys in the hot seat at St. Brigid’s PS

Ulster Rugby player Ian Humphreys delighted the pupils of St. Brigid’s Primary School in Ballymoney last week when he popped in ahead of the Maxol Mini Rugby Festival that was hosted by Ballymoney RFC on Saturday 21st February.

Ian shared much of his rugby wisdom with the mini rugby enthusiasts but quickly found himself in the hot seat as the school children were armed with lots of questions for the flyhalf.

The Ulster star was quizzed by the eager pupils on everything from playing football in his school days to winning trophies as a professional rugby player.

Ballymoney Rugby Football Club, with the support of Glenn Biesty, proprietor of Biesty’s Maxol service station in Ballymoney hosted the penultimate Maxol Mini Rugby Festival of the season which saw Under-7 rugby teams from Coleraine, Ballymena, Limavady, Randalstown and Rainey take part.

Glenn and his team provided lunch and goodie bags for all the young players and present the team prizes on the day.

Glenn Biesty commented: “We were delighted to lend our support to the Maxol Mini Rugby Festival hosted by Ballymoney Rugby Football Club.

“It was a great occasion for young rugby players to come together and meet other players who share the same passion they do. I certainly enjoyed a great day’s rugby.”
