Investigation into sudden death of young Newtownabbey man in Ibiza
Alan Drennan, a former pupil of Glengormley High School, was found dead in his hotel room on Sunday, July 19 - less than 24 hours after he arrived on the holiday island.
The 21-year-old, from Lakeview in Mossley, was on holiday with a group of friends.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: “We can confirm the death of a British national in Ibiza on 19 July. We have been liaising with the Spanish authorities and are providing support to the family at this difficult time.”
Mr Drennan’s older brother, Lee, paid tribute to his ‘wee bro’ on Facebook, posting: “Nothing is promised to no one, appreciate everything in life because you never know when it can be taken from you.
“I’ve learnt this the hard way as I’ve lost a massive part of my life, my wee bro.
“After 21 years of listening to his voice everyday and always having him to go to if I ever needed anything or vice versa, to be told I’ll never have that again, is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through.

“He was one of a kind and it’s nice to see so many think so highly of him. Thank you. I love you so much Alan. Always.”
A spokesman for Glengormley High School paid tribute to Mr Drennan, describing him as “a lovely young fella from a great family.”
Expressing his sympathy to the Drennan family, Deputy Mayor John Blair said: “I understand the shock of the community, and offer support and heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends on this untimely death.”
