Judge orders removal of Magherafelt man’s car after banning and fining him

Michael Magyal, 24, of Sperrin View, Magherafelt, was also banned from driving for six months when he admitted having no insurance and no driving licence on July 7 this year.

A prosecuting lawyer said the offences came to light after police on mobile patrol at Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, followed and stopped the defendant’s vehicle at Leckagh housing estate.

She said when asked for his driving documents the defendant told police that he would be getting paid on Friday and would be getting insurance then.

Magyall who was not professionally represented, said he wished to apologise to the court for his actions.

Imposing the fines, District Judge Bernie Kelly also made an order for the forfeiture of the vehicle.
