Landlord is fined for failing to carry out repairs
A LANDLORD has been fined £250 for failing to comply with a notice issued by Belfast City Council to carry out repairs at his property.
James McCabe, from St Anne’s Mews in Newtownabbey, was also ordered to pay costs of £66 for failing to carry out damp repairs to the first floor and rear bedrooms of a house at Glenbank Place in Belfast, which he’d let to tenants.
The council had issued Mr McCabe with a notice on September 4, 2012 under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act, asking him to carry out the works.
Mr McCabe was also ordered to pay an offender levy of £15.
The prosecution was brought by Belfast City Council.
