Marty McToal of Marty's Catering Services cooked up over two dozen meals for Larne community nurses and Antrim Area Hospital staff this week, with the help of fellow chef Alan Smith alongside delivery drivers Samantha Castle and Pamela Montgomery. "It’s nice to give a little back," he said.

With further meals set to go out to healthcare staff this week, the business has also seen a surge in demand for its meals-on-wheels service since lockdown began. "I’ve been doing meals-on-wheels in Larne since April 2002; I have normally 60 to 70 but at the minute I’m up to nearly 100," Marty added. "Some of my customers have no one else so we are essentially their only contact."

Also planned is an event for health workers and staff in September at St John's Masonic Club. "There will be free entry, nibbles and music to say thank you for everyone’s hard work," Marty said.
