Larne woman appointed JP
Larne woman, Mrs Margaret McIlgorm was appointed a Justice of the Peace in January 1986.
She was a lay magistrate in the juvenile court and a member of the Housing Benefits Review Board. She was also a member of the Post Office Users Council for a number of years.
Mrs McIlgorm was a founder director of the Larne Credit Union LTD. She was a founder committee member of Larne and District Folklore Society and the first editor of the Corran magazine. She was married to Edward, who had passed away a number of years previously. Her three children: Dr Edward McIlgorm, who at the time was employed by the Department of Agriculture; Daniel and Jayne-Marie, who were both final-year students at Trinity.
