Lisburn Probus club set to resume meetings

The club, one of about 60 in Northern Ireland - each with a special connection to its local Rotary Club - meets on Thursday mornings in Lisburn Golf Club.

Members are this year celebrating the 40th anniversary of the club’s founding, in 1975, by members of the Rotary Club of Lisburn.

“We have celebrated our 40th anniversary in several ways,” said Probus President Fred Hall.

“The highlight sofar has been the anniversary lunch in June.”

Anniversary events will wind up with a service in Eglantine Parish Church at 3pm on Sunday, September 20.Mr Hall thanked Eglantine Parish for welcoming Probus to the church.

“We look forward to this service of thanksgiving,“ he said.

“We invite family, friends and anyone with a Probus or Rotary connection to join us as we bring our anniversary celebrations to a fitting conclusion.”

The guest speaker at the first meeting o will be Claire Patience, Project Coordinator of Lisburn in Focus.

Lisburn in Focus has been operating in Lisburn for a number of years.

It provides support and activities for those who are blind or sight-impaired and works to increase awareness of their needs.
