Locals don their dancing shoes for fundraising showcase

SATURDAY Night at the Movies like you’ve never seen it before comes to the Torrent Complex, Donaghmore, on November 3, as St Patrick’s GFC presents ‘Let’s Dance’, a showcase of talented couples of all ages with a magical movie soundtrack.

From Flashdance to Footloose, Singin’ In the Rain to Step Up, Dirty Dancing to the Blues Brothers, the audience will be tapping their toes and stepping back in time to a host of favourite songs, while ten energetic couples take to the stage to see if the Torrent’s answer to Travolta or Donaghmore’s Darcy Bussell really does exist!

Organiser Brian Faloon of St Patrick’s GFC is looking forward to the event. He said:

“Let’s Dance – Saturday Night at the Movies follows on from our very successful Strictly Come Dancing back in 2010 which proved that our club members are a fun, lively and talented bunch who are not afraid of hard work and are up for a laugh when it comes to fundraising.

“Rehearsals are underway under the watchful eye of Jamie Lee Maneely and I’m told the competition is really heating up with a few Patrick Swayze wannabes vying for the winning title!

“The judges will have their work cut out for them on November 3 and we are all looking forward to a great night’s craic.”

The event starts at 8pm and tickets, priced at £20, are now available from Stewart’s Music Shop, Dungannon (Tel 028 8776 25286) or from Brian directly by telephoning 07712 874 617.
