Man leaves flat after pan fire

A Knockmore man aged in his 50s was treated for smoke inhalation by ambulance personnel following a grill pan fire at his flat in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Fire crews encouraged the man to leave his flat at Knockmore Square when they arrived at the scene.

The occupant had been alerted by an actuating alarm on the premises.

When emergency crews arrived around 1am the fire was extinguished with a hosereel jet.
