May Day washout

HEAVY rain and high winds played havoc with Carrick’s bank holiday celebrations with two high-profile events adversely affected.

Carrickfergus Borough Council’s annual May Day Fair at Marine Gardens was the first event to be hit by the inclement weather on Monday. “Unfortunately due to the nature of the fun day, it couldn’t be moved to another location indoors,” said arts and events officer Lynda Waring.
