McCloskey-Khan fight 'off '

UNCONFIRMED reports emerging in the last hour have claimed that the much anticipated fight between Paul McCloskey and Amir Khan is off after talks over the bout have broken down.

'Irreconcilable differences' have been cited as the reason for the cancellation of the bout which was hoped would have taken place in Manchester on April 16.

Sources suggest that differences over money and plans for McCloskey's next few fights should he defeat the world light-welterweight champion who hails from Bolton.

As the sentinel went to press on Tuesday night both camps were confident that a deal could be reached to confirm the mouth watering clash between the two fighters.

Paul McCloskey's manager, father-in-law, Francie McNicholl told the Sentinel: "We are moving in the right direction. I've been talking to Shah Khan today (Tuesday) and we would be hopeful we can arrive at an agreement."

However, tonight McCloskey's long awaited crack at world glory seems to have fallen apart-although as said, that has yet to be confirmed.
