The school, attended by many from the Garvagh area, got to experience Big Telly Theatre Company’s production of ‘Carnage’. The hard-hitting performance centred around the consequences of driving whilst using mobile phones.

MLA McQuillan said: “It is very important that our young people are aware of these important road safety messages, messages that could save their lives.”

He went on: “The production planted an actor as a new pupil of the school, this pupil was later arrested by police as part of the production.

“I think it was a very stark warning to the students, and I commend all those involved in the event.

“It might have been a production, but it was very realistic, and I think that it made a lot of the students think about how a split second decision can change their lives.”
