Mid Ulster Council to recruit new staff to patrol parks after needles find

Mid Ulster District Council is in the process of recruiting new staff to monitor public parks in the towns of Dungannon, Cookstown and Magherafelt, a spokesperson has told the TIMES.

The announcement comes after this newspaper reported a member of the public had found what appeared to be needles and drug paraphernalia on a pathway in Railway Park Dungannon.

The spokeswoman explained: “The Council is in the process of recruiting new parks staff and will be prioritising town parks when they are in place.

“Lighting issues in Railway Park will also be addressed.”
