A Dunmurry man has been given a suspended sentence following motoring offences and being in possession of cannabis.

Brian Joseph Gallagher, 29, of Broom Park, appeared at Lisburn Magistrates Court this week charged with using a motor vehicle without insurance, dangerous driving, possessing Class B Contolled Drug, driving while disqualified and failing to stop for police on July 1 2012.

Gallagher had previously apperared in court when the judge imposed a deffered sentence. District Judge Rosie Watters ordered the defendant be imprisoned for five months but this was suspended for one year six months.

Gallagher was was also disqualified from driving for 18 months and given a £50 fine and £15 offender levy.
