Northern Irish accent is sexiest around, says survey

The poll, conducted by supermarket giant Asda from a sample of 2,000 people, revealed that that 17 per cent favoured the Northern brogue.

Our Celtic neighbours Scotland came a close second with 15 per cent.

Overall this means that one in three think the Celtic twang is the sexiest in these islands.

The accents of personalities such as The Fall and Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan, Liam Neeson, Christine Bleakley and sports star Rory McIlroy have put the Northern voice firmly in the limelight.

Despite the huge popularity of TV show The Only Way is Essex, only one per cent found that accent sexy, closely followed by the Birmingham, Liverpudlian and Mancunian accents.
