'Nuisance' as police dealt with youths

A YOUNG Craigavon man who 'made a nuisance of himself' was arrested for disorderly behaviour, the local court heard last Thursday.

Twenty-year-old Liam Mulholland, of Drumellan Gardens, admitted the offence and was given a conditional discharge for two years.

The court heard that on March 13 this year the defendant was part of a crowd of eight to ten youths who were drinking Buckfast and cider in an underpass at Brownlow Road which is a designated non-drinking area.

They shouted obscenities at police and while police were dealing with one of the youths Mulholland made a nuisance of himself.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said too much alcohol was involved.

He added that if Mulholland had taken the advice of the police and stepped back he would not have ended up in court.
