Invest NI offices to remain after council mergers

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has no plans to relocate Invest NI offices following proposed changes to council boundaries after the ‘Review of Public Administration’ (RPA).

Under RPA, Limavady Borough Council will join with their counterparts in Ballymoney, Moyle and Coleraine, while Derry City Council will join with their counterparts in Strabane. Ms Foster had been asked whether her Department planned to relocate Invest NI offices after the changes by UUP Economy spokesperson Sandra Overend. The Minister replied: “Invest NI currently has five Regional Offices and a further three points of presence in satellite offices across Northern Ireland.

“The five Regional Offices are located in Omagh (West), Newry (South), Belfast (East), Londonderry (North West) and Ballymena (North East). These points of presence align well with the 11 council model.”
