Parade was not illegal
IN your report on Pride of the Village Band last week it was stated that it was an illegal parade. This is incorrect.
It was a completely legal parade, an annual event and an 11/1 had been lodged but the parades commission had put stipulations on the parade.
One of these was that the band wasn’t allowed to stop at any stage during the parade. However, the chairman at the time decided to stage a peaceful protest along the route and that was where the problem with the determination arose.
