Springwell Running Club action

Springwell’s Jason McLeister ran 3:13:13 at the 37th Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday. The race was won by Wilson Chebet in 2:05:41 with Meseret Hailu first lady 2:21:09 both setting new course records.

Hugh Deighan was Springwell’s sole representative at the Gr8Dundrum Run on Saturday. Hugh covered the 8 mile course which was a mix of road, trail and beach in 1:02:14. Brendan Teer led the field of 800 runners’ home in 44:47 with Karen Alexander first lady in 52:05.

The weather was perfect for the Portrush Parkrun on Saturday but high tide and horses training on the beach before the run made the underfoot conditions difficult.
