Cookstown tragedy: Mid Ulster MP says town 'stunned' after workplace accident

The name of the man who died in the accident at Trade Mouldings at Sandholes Road on Wednesday morning has not yet been released.
It is understood he lived with his young family in Cookstown, but was originally from Portugal.

Hide AdThe cause of the accident is currently being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive NI.
In a statement, Mr Mallaghan said: “I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the man killed in a workplace accident in a factory in Cookstown.
“This tragedy has stunned the entire community, but everyone will rally around to support all those affected in what will be difficult days ahead.”
Trade Mouldings, which makes doors for the home furniture markets, confirmed the deceased was one of their employees.

Hide AdIn a statement, the company directors offered their condolences to the immediate family.
Cookstown Ulster Unionist Party Councillor Trevor Wilson extended his sympathy to the family and work colleagues of the deceased.
"It’s a terrible tragedy that has upset many people in the area,” he said.
DUP Mid Ulster MLA Keith Buchanan said his “thoughts and prayers” are with all those affected by the tragedy.
