Free pre-loved uniforms for Portadown, Lurgan and Craigavon schools
A popular scheme which offers free school uniforms to families in the Portadown, Lurgan and Craigavon areas is hosting its annual ‘shop’ this weekend.
Compassion outreach is a team of volunteers from R8 Church in Portadown committed to reaching and supporting local families through various projects such as providing children’s clothing, teen hygiene packs, mothering packs and a Christmas toy shop.
The team’s school uniform shop is now in its fifth year and looks set to be busier than ever when it opens to the public on Saturday, July 25.
Not only does the scheme help the environment by reducing waste, it also helps to make sure all children start the new term with confidence.

Thanks to fantastic support from throughout the community, there will be many good quality, clean uniforms for pupils of all ages.
A wide selection of pre-loved uniforms for 20 local nursery, primary and post-primary schools will be available to take free of charge.

"We have had great support from the local businesses in the area who have served as drop off points for the uniforms – Joseph Poots and Son Funeral Directors, Portadown Credit Union and Little Sprouts Daycare.
"Portadown Credit Union also donated brand new items for us to give out too which we are very thankful and grateful for,” she said.
The school uniform shop will be open on Saturday, July 25 from 10am – 12 noon and from 2pm – 4pm at 2A Carrickblacker Avenue, Portadown.
There will be a cash donation box available on the day for anyone who wishes to make contribute and this will go straight back into helping support local families.
