Larne-based Hampton Roast Coffee once again awarded Business All-Star accreditation

Larne-based Hampton Roast Coffee has been awarded Business All-Star 2026 accreditation by the All-Ireland Business Foundation, marking its second consecutive year of recognition.

Founded by owner Rhyan McCoy, Hampton Roast Coffee is a small-batch roaster that began as a genuine passion project.

Rhyan first experimented with home roasting using popcorn makers back in 2017, buying his first professional roaster in 2019, and officially launching the business in January 2021.

Its ethos has remained the same: source ethically, roast traceable single-origin beans in small batches, and roast to order so customers receive coffee at its freshest.

Environmental concerns are also high on the agenda, with the business having made a conscious move away from single-use plastics, introducing CO2-neutral, biodegradable packaging and labels across its range.

Hampton Roast Coffee has been delighted to see customers embrace its refill scheme, calling to the roastery to top up and cut out packaging altogether.

The AIBF Adjudication Panel recognised Hampton Roast Coffee for its quality, trust and conscious coffee provision, and for the sustainability and customer-centred innovation that set the benchmark within the food and beverage sector.

Rhyan McCoy said: "We’re honoured to be recognised as a Business All-Star for a second year. From roasting in my kitchen to where we are today, the ethos has never changed, great coffee, ethically sourced, roasted fresh to order, and done in a way that’s kinder to the planet. This accreditation reflects the trust of our customers here in Larne and well beyond, and it means the world to a small business like ours.”

Kieran Ring, Deputy Chair of the AIBF Adjudication Board, added: "Hampton Roast Coffee represents the very best of conscious, small-batch enterprise. Rhyan McCoy has built a business that refuses to compromise, on the quality of the coffee or on its impact on people and planet, and customers clearly love it for exactly that. The panel recognised its quality, its sustainability leadership and the trust it has earned. Two consecutive years of recognition is a fine achievement."

Hampton Roast Coffee is an outstanding example of a values-led Irish business, said Kapil Khanna, Co-CEO of the All-Ireland Business Foundation. “From its base in Larne, it has shown that ethical sourcing, sustainability and genuine quality can go hand in hand, and grow a loyal customer base in the process. This second consecutive accreditation recognises both that quality and the trust behind it.

“We evaluate a company’s background, trustworthiness and performance, and we speak to customers, employees and vendors. We anonymously approach the company as a customer and report back on the experience. The business goes through at least two interviews and is scored on every part of the process against set metrics.”
