A young Larne man is giving “items with character” a new lease of life thanks to his refurbishing skills.

Tiernay Devine (19) has been restoring furniture for four years.

Since establishing a business page, Tiernay Devine Bespoke Furniture, on Facebook last year, the skilled craftsman has received attention about his work from across the United Kingdom.

Speaking to the Times, the former St Killian’s student said: “I have always enjoyed working with furniture and studied construction at GCSE.

“I’ve always loved items with plenty of wear and tear, including industrial items with lots of character.

“Since setting up my business, I have sold a piece of my furniture to a customer in London before.
