Lisburn community group celebrates £10k centre refurbishment
Tonagh Community Group is celebrating the official opening of its newly refurbished community hub following a Housing Executive investment of almost £10,000.
Transforming the layout into a modern open-plan space, the work has created a more welcoming, accessible and versatile facility to support the group's growing range of activities and services for local residents.
Leanne Reid: “We were delighted to welcome Housing Executive staff and Alderman Amanda Grehan to officially open the newly refurbished Tonagh Community Hub.
“Our project began with discussions between Amanda and former Housing Executive Area Manager Des Marley over a year ago, and it is wonderful to see it come to fruition.

“A special thank you to current Area Manager Ciarán Stitt for successfully delivering the project, and to Andrew McCready, Architect, for his valued support and expertise in designing the refurbishment.
“We would also like to acknowledge and thank PK Murphy, who provided paint and painted the interior, for the excellent work carried out throughout the project.
“The refurbishment marks an important milestone for our community, and we look forward to seeing the hub continue to serve and support local people for many years to come.”
Ciaran Stitt, Area Manager for Lisburn & Castlereagh at the Housing Executive, added: “We were pleased to invest in a new space for Tonagh Community Group which is now more accessible and better suited to the group’s needs.
“Community hubs such as this play a vital role in bringing people together and providing opportunities for residents of all ages to connect and take part in local activities.”
