The firm has slashed the price of petrol and diesel at a selected number of its outlets across Northern Ireland including the one of the Armagh Road in Portadown.

Vehicles have been queuing from early morning since the offer went on sale at 7am. Tailbacks have been clogging up this main artery in and out of Portadown and causing issues for many residents in the area.

Upper Bann MLA Doug Beattie MC MLA said he had contacted the PSNI and will be speaking to the Go filling station managers.

He urged drivers to avoid the Armagh Road if possible.

Speaking today the Upper Bann MLA said: “Update....PSNI have been notified, I will also be speaking to GO. This has happened in previous years and this location does not have the infrastructure to deal with this kind of traffic.

"Please be mindful of residents in the area if you're in the queue. Do not mount the kerbs!”

There are reports of traffic issues across various parts of NI where the offer is available as many people take advantage of the significant price reduction during this Cost of Living Crisis.

The Go outlet said it was offering significant reductions in the price of petrol and diesel for one day only.

The fuel retailer said: “Go Red on Thanksgiving Thursday Deal. No Black Friday… No Catch… Just HUGE savings!”

They are permitting one transaction per customer and it must be into vehicle tanks only with no container/ storage tank fills allowed.
