This exclusive private hire country house venue nestled in 42 acres of mature woodlands was built more than 140 years ago as a warm and welcoming home. That same ethos is now extended to visitors, with this legendary estate the ideal location to host exquisite weddings or private, exclusive events.

The Allen family have 34 years’ experience in premier event catering and received the keys to Magheramorne Estate in March 2020, literally days before the government announced lockdown. This was devastating news; bookings had to be cancelled, emergency financial plans put in place, staff put on furlough and a new business strategy created.

Their entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking shone through, they embraced this challenge and secured an additional investment of £150k allowed them to fast forward on renovation plans of the bedrooms during lockdown to ensure sales could be maximised as soon as they were able to open their doors.

Good relationships with local suppliers helped in renegotiating credit terms. Key personnel diversified roles to maximise effectiveness, which helped to keep costs down. The grounds were used to offer seasonal woodland trails, outdoor dining, afternoon teas and create a calendar of social events.

The core business for this magnificent setting is weddings. Since the lifting of Covid restrictions in May 2021, the estate has seen a growth in weddings – 25 per cent in 2022 and it is on target for a further growth of 30 per cent in 2023.

Magheramorne Estate has 36 luxurious en suite bedrooms allowing guests to enjoy an intimate and exclusive experience, and its accommodation revenue has seen a 27 per cent growth year on year.
