The new 26,673 sq ft store will replace the existing, smaller Balteagh Road branch near Highfield and just off the Northway.
It is claimed the site will feature improved parking, 127 spaces, as well as EV charging. It is not clear if that includes the existing underground parking at Rushmere.
Entrance to the site will be from Lakeview Road or from Rushmere Shopping Centre with exit onto Central Way.
No firm date for its official opening has yet been released but it is expected to open some time this summer.
However, construction workers appear to be working at pace and the building is well on the way to completion.
